I'm looking for a quality shop with experience on NC's that can install an FM Stage 2 set up and possibly also do the alignment.  I'm especially concerned that the shop know about the bushings binding issue, and correctly lower the car before tightening the suspension. The shop needs to be within 2 hours or less of Jersey City, NJ.

So far I've only been able to come up with solutions that are 3 hours or more from Jersey City, in PA and CT.

Sorry, can't help you as I doubt the shops I used over 25 years ago when I lived in northern New Jersey are still around or owned by the same folks. However, I am planning suspension work too and would appreciate it if you could send me the shops in Pennsylvania that are qualified to do this type of work.

    Thanks.

If you're willing to make the drive to South River, it's a few minutes off Tpke Exit 9.

    113 Whitehead Ave

    T&Z Automotive

    Dave Deerson

    732-257-2664

Dave is a 1 man shop.

    He is a Miata expert/genius.

Has built countless Miata race cars.

He's over the top anal about doing everything right.

There's no way you could find a more honest, meticulous, fairly priced guy to work on your car.

He's terrific with  most makes of cars. He's the head tech person for NASA NE Racing.

I met Dave at the track about 10 years ago and have been using him for all my cars. I have 3 Miata's and 2 Corvettes. He's also a Vette genius. I was going to get a Porsche 911 , but Dave's not a Porsche guy, so I got a 2nd Vette.

If you can get to him--you'll be very pleased with the end result.

The only down side is, he's a 1 man shop.

In North East PA you might try Planet Miata at 1205 Main Street 1-866-296-1100 or email marc@planet-miata.com .  I don't know if they will work with parts not purchased thru them but all they work on are Miata's

    BillC,

Thanks info. I'm aware of this place, but haven't contacted them because they're somewhat far away for a drop-off and return. I'm hoping to find a place similar to this one that's closer to the suburban Philadelphia area (I live in Montgomeryville). They also specialize in NA and NB, but I assume they'll handle a NC car (but may not have parts).

    Regards,

    RobW
