These warm months provide so many opportunities for top-down rides. Riding to work gets a whole lot more fun and a ride to dinner after work is its own experience. And, of course, there are the weekends.
Join us for one or more of the many events and runs scheduled over the next few months. The first couple are in Pennsylvania with a run to an antique car museum in Boyertown followed by the Covered Bridge Run through Bucks County later in July. With a start at historic Washington Crossing State Park, participants get to see where General Washington crossed the Delaware back on an icy December night in 1776.
August brings a couple car shows. The first is a run that ends at a car show in Macungie, Pennsylvania. With more than 1,000 cars to take a look at, the hour run through diverse terrain prior to the show is just the primer. The second car show run will pass through the settlement of Durham, Pennsylvania. During the Revolutionary War, Durham manufactured cannon balls at the Durham furnace. Boat manufacturing was developed to ship the cannon balls to Philadelphia. Durham boats were also used by Washington to cross the Delaware River in 1776 and the run will pass a replica boat that is visible from the road.
The New Jersey Quilt Run is in September and brings cars through The Highlands in Warren County. Participants will be looking for barns decorated with quilt patterns that are part of a larger nationwide network of quilt barn trails. In addition, the run goes along scenic roadways, twisty roadways and elevation changes.
If you aren’t interested in attending a run or would like to supplement your activities, join members for Ice Cream Nights. They are during the week and the locations change each time. Check the homepage for dates and locations as well as to check for new runs and events and they get added frequently.
