Join Curt and Anne Springstead in a reprise of a tour of NJ Highlands area in Warren County from a few years back.

Continuing my penchant for routes that make you look for sights along the road this time we will search for barns decorated with quilt patterns.

The Warren County New Jersey Quilt Barn tour is part of a larger nationwide program of barn quilt trails. Many of these barns are very old and have historical or landmark significance in the area.  The hand-painted quilt squares resemble traditional quilt patterns that have been used by generations of quilters.  These block patterns are very popular and are easily recognizable from a distance by their primarily geometric patterns.

We will start at the Panera Bread at 1196 U.S. 22, Phillipsburg, NJ. Plan to show up by 9:30 AM for a departure at 10:00AM. The 57 mile journey will take about 2 hours to search some very scenic roadways for about 10 barn quilts spread across the county. The route will also offer a good  exercise for your Miata with many twisty bits and elevation changes.

Our final destination will be Hot Dog Johnny's in Butzville, NJ. The event will be limited to 20 cars so please be sure to reserve your place soon. For more information or to sign up contact me at events@delval.org.
