I have a low milage MK1 with original suspension and wheel bearings. With the addition of wider, sticky track tires, do I have to worry about hub failures?

The Mk 1 is more commonly referred to as the NA or first generation, in the Miata community.  I had an NA, an NB, and now have An NB MazdaSpeed.  I'm no mechanic or suspension expert, but I would definitley be concerned about wider, sticky tires.  The original tire size on the NA is 185/90R14.  I wouldn't go any larger than a plus-1, which I had on my NA.  As far as wider, sticky tires for track use, I would rely on recommendations from Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct.  I'd be concerned about wheel well clearance, as well as hub or suspension problems.
